Romanian research groups service

Under development - provisional page

This upcoming section will feature a comprehensive list of services developed by Romanian research groups in the life sciences. These services will encompass:

Data resources designed for reuse by Romanian and international research groups.

Bioinformatics software and pipelines.

Training resources, including training portals and event series.

A review process will be organized to assess the resources for inclusion on the CRB website. The evaluation criteria will include the potential to increase the number of users, interoperability, and sustainability.

Please contact CRB at contact_crb@bioinfocluster.ro for futher information.

Just DNA-Seq Institute of Biochemistry of the Romanian Academy

The Just DNA-Seq platform includes multiple modules and bioinformatics pipelines to analyze and annotate human genome data. Just DNA-Seq tools provide reports to retrieve polygenic risk scores (PRS), information about variants associated with age-related diseases or major life threatening risks and longevity-associated variants present in your genome.

Aging research Tools No
SynergyAge Institute of Biochemistry of the Romanian Academy

The SynergyAge database hosts high-quality, manually curated information about the synergistic and antagonistic lifespan effects of genetic interventions in model organisms, also allowing users to explore the longevity relationships between genes in a visual way.

Aging research Database No
MetaboAge Institute of Biochemistry of the Romanian Academy

MetaboAge is a free, open-source, manually curated human aging-related metabolome database. It provides intuitive bioinformatics tools for the visualization, interpretation, and analysis of pathway knowledge with regards to metabolites that change during the aging process.

Aging research Database No
MitoAge Institute of Biochemistry of the Romanian Academy

MitoAge is a curated, publicly available database, containing an extensive collection of mtDNA features and longevity records. It contains calculated mtDNA compositional features of the entire mitochondrial genome, mtDNA coding (tRNA, rRNA, protein-coding genes), and non-coding (D-loop, insertions) regions, codon usage for each protein-coding gene, and longevity records for over 900 species, as well as tools for the comparative analysis of mtDNA, particularly focusing on animal longevity.

Aging research Database No
Longevity genie Institute of Biochemistry of the Romanian Academy

Longevity genie is an open-source toolbox and chatbot designed to use large language models in answering questions about personal health, genetics, and groundbreaking longevity research.

Aging research Tools No
molecularmodels.ro Bioactive Research Group

Colection of 3D printable models of various protein and complexes with relevance for teaching biomolecular structure. Instructions on how to convert a pdb file to a printable stl file, as well as how to print molecular models are provided also. Details available in: Mihasan, M. A Beginner’s Guideline for Low-cost 3D Printing of Macromolecules Usable for Teaching and Demonstration. Biochem. Mol. Biol. Educ. 2021, bmb.21493.

Plastic Raman Database – A Raman spectral database of aged plastics Faculty of Physics, "Babeș-Bolyai" University of Cluj-Napoca

Plastic Raman database comprises Raman spectra  of  naturally aged plastics, both macro- and  microplastics, including standard plastics. It comprises  plastics aged for years  both in terrestrial or aquatic conditions and characteristic  spectral information,  images  of samples and relevant description of various  plastic waste samples collected from natural environment. It  covers  6  recyclable types of plastic: polyethylene terephthalate (PET), high-density polyethylene (HDPE), polyvinyl chloride (PVC), low-density polyethylene (LDPE), polypropylene (PP), and polystyrene (PS).

GitHub - TracyRage/muddy_mine Faculty of Biology and Geology, "Babeș-Bolyai" University of Cluj-Napoca

A mining pipeline - muddy_mine, which could engage NLP technology in the niche environmental topics such as mud volcanoes. This pipeline is able to mine taxonomy (bacterial, archaeal), methods or any other tokens of interest from the Open Access articles. Articles available in the S2ORC database, CC BY-NC 2.0, unmodified (Lo et al. 2020). muddy_mine output represents a csv table with all the relevant data regarding mud volcanoes.
