Projects

The aim of the CRB is to strengthen the links with ELIXIR Nodes, facilitate capacity building in Romania and support the exchange of best practices in bioinformatics service provision.

Current projects

ELIXIR-STEERS (2024-2027)

ELIXIR-STEERS | Health-RI

Objective:

ELIXIR-STEERS aims to facilitate life science researchers in accessing national datasets and conducting large-scale, cross-border analysis of data from across Europe. This project promotes good software management practices and supports life scientists with their software management needs. As part of the initiative, a toolkit will be developed to collect these good practices for green and reproducible software and workflows.

CRB Involvement:

CRB is a participant in Work Package 4 (WP4) of the ELIXIR-STEERS project.

WP4 Focus:

Work Package 4 is dedicated to Strengthening and equipping ELIXIR Nodes and Node staff with essential skills and resources in organization, management, and training. The overall goal of WP4 is to enhance the organizational, managerial, and training capabilities of ELIXIR Nodes, enabling their effective operation across the network.

Bioinformatics Capacity Building Human Genomic (2021-2023)

Overview:

The Bioinformatics Capacity Building Human Genomic (BCBHG) project is a bilateral initiative aimed at enhancing bioinformatics capacity in human genomics. The project is funded through the Bilateral Fund associated with the EEA and Norwegian Grants 2014-2021.

Coordination and Partnership: This project is coordinated by the Romanian Society of Bioinformatics (RSBI) in partnership with ELIXIR Norway. CRB (Romanian Bioinformatics Cluster) is involved in this project as a contractor and member association of RSBI.

Project Partners:

In addition to ELIXIR Norway, the project involves collaboration with medical and research institutions within the Romanian Bioinformatics Cluster, of which CRB is a key member.
